General / Getting Started

We serve the Niagara region exclusively — Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Welland, Thorold, Niagara-on-the-Lake, and the surrounding area. We don't currently travel outside Niagara for standard residential or small commercial jobs. If you're just outside our usual radius, give us a call and we'll let you know if it's workable.

Yes. Every quote is free, no obligation, and given in CAD with a clear breakdown of labour and materials. We can quote over the phone for simple jobs or come out for a free on-site assessment for anything more involved.

We reply to calls, texts, and form submissions within 24 hours, usually much sooner. Actual scheduling depends on our current job board, but most Niagara jobs are booked within a week or two of first contact.

Yes — we carry commercial general liability insurance and can provide a certificate on request. Low-voltage data and CCTV cabling doesn't require an ESA electrical licence in Ontario, but we still work to ANSI/TIA and BICSI industry standards on every job.

Yes. We handle residential pre-wires and retrofits as well as small commercial cabling — offices, retail units, multi-unit buildings, and builder partnerships across Niagara.

No subcontractors. Every job is done personally by the owner-technician, so the person quoting your job is the same person running your cable and testing every line. That keeps quality and accountability in one pair of hands.

What's Included / How Pricing Works

A drop is one cable run from origin to termination — for example, from your network closet to a wall jack or camera location — including up to 50 ft of cable, one keystone jack, and a faceplate where applicable. It's the basic building block we use to price most cabling work.

Additional cable is billed at $1.25 per foot beyond the first 50 ft. If you need premium media — Cat6A, shielded, or plenum/FT6-rated cable — that adds another $0.75 per foot on top. We measure or estimate the run during the quote so there are no surprises on invoice day.

We supply the cabling and installation materials — cable, faceplates, keystone jacks, termination ends, connectors, and patch panels. You supply the active devices: switches, routers, PoE cameras, NVR/DVR recorders, and Wi-Fi access points.

It lets you choose the brand, features, and price point that work for you, and keeps your device warranty directly with the manufacturer. It also keeps our pricing predictable — you're not paying a markup on hardware you could buy yourself, just clean, certified installation.

Yes, $129 CAD is our minimum service call. If you have a few small tasks, it's usually most cost-effective to bundle them into a single visit rather than booking separate appointments.

Our quoted prices are pre-tax; HST is added to the final invoice as required by law.

For most jobs, yes — a 10% booking deposit that's applied directly to your final invoice. We never ask for full payment up front.

We currently accept e-transfer or cheque. Let us know your preference when booking.

Cable & Tech Questions

Cat5e is older and largely obsolete for new installs. Cat6 is a solid, cost-effective default for most homes and offices today. Cat6A costs a bit more but future-proofs you for 10 Gbps speeds and performs better on longer runs — we'll recommend the right fit for your project during the quote.

Generally, yes — running a couple of extra drops per work area while walls are open is much cheaper than adding them later through finished drywall. It's a small cost now against a much bigger one down the road.

Standard structured cabling is reliable up to 100 metres (about 328 ft) per the TIA spec. Beyond that, signal quality drops off, so we'll plan for a network switch partway along the run or a fiber link instead.

Plenum-rated (FT6) cable has a special jacket designed for air-handling spaces like drop ceilings and HVAC returns, where it needs to resist fire and smoke spread. Riser cable is standard for most other runs. Plenum cable costs more, which is reflected in our premium media surcharge.

Yes — we handle fiber termination, splicing, and demarc extensions, including relocating an existing ISP fiber box to your rack or network closet.

In most cases, yes — we fish cable through existing wall cavities and minimize new holes wherever possible. Some layouts (blocked cavities, fire stops, multiple floors) make access harder and add cost, but we'll always walk you through that before we start, not after.

Yes. Every line is continuity-tested and labelled according to TIA-606 standards, and documentation is available on request so you always know what's running where.

CCTV / Security Cameras

You supply the cameras and NVR/DVR recorder — we run the cable, mount the cameras, terminate everything, and configure the recorder for you.

As a rough guide, plan on about one camera per 500–1,000 sq ft of coverage, prioritizing entry points, doors, the driveway, and garage. We'll help you plan exact camera count and placement as part of your free quote.

No — footage records locally to your NVR/DVR without an internet connection. You only need internet if you want remote viewing on your phone or push alerts.

No — the $195 NVR setup fee covers configuring the recorder, storage, and remote app access only. Each camera's cable run is billed separately as its own capped drop (up to 50 ft included, then $1.25/ft).

Wi-Fi / Network

Yes — the most reliable fix is hardwiring one or more access points to your network instead of relying on a single router. You supply the access points; we run the cable and mount them.

Yes — we build out racks, mount and terminate patch panels, and dress the cable management so your network closet looks and functions the way it should.

Logistics / Trust

It depends on the number of drops and how accessible your walls, attic, or basement are. A small job might take a few hours; a full home pre-wire or larger commercial job can run a full day or more. We'll give you a time estimate with your quote.

We work cleanly, cover floors where needed, and minimize the number and size of any holes — patched to paint-ready when we're done. We also take before-and-after photos so you can see exactly what was done.

We back our labour with a 12-month workmanship warranty. Any cabling materials we supplied that turn out defective are replaced, with manufacturer warranties passed through where applicable. Devices you supply yourself aren't covered by our warranty — that's between you and the manufacturer.

Cancellations or reschedules with 48+ hours' notice are free. Shorter notice or a no-access appointment may carry a fee — see our Terms of Service for the full policy. If you signed a contract at your home, Ontario law also gives you a 10-day cooling-off right to cancel.

Contact us and we'll take care of it — most post-install issues are resolved with a quick return visit under our workmanship warranty.
