Closets & Rack Builds

One rack. Every wire. One place to look.

Every cable in the building should land in one place — a properly sized rack where your ISP feed, switches, router, and patch panels are mounted, dressed, and labelled so anyone can look at it and understand the network in seconds.

We build the rack out, not just drop equipment into it: patch panel placement, cable management, power, and airflow are all planned before the first screw goes in.

What Goes Into a Build

Sized, powered, and dressed correctly

A rack build is a small design project, not just mounting hardware.

  • Right-sized enclosure — 2-post, 4-post, or wall-mount, in the U-height the equipment and future growth actually need
  • Patch panels mounted and terminated with horizontal & vertical cable managers so runs never cross in front of ports
  • ISP demarc, router/UDM, switches, and NVR mounted in a logical top-to-bottom flow
  • PDU power distribution and a UPS sized to ride out short outages without dropping the network
  • Airflow planned so switches and NVR hardware don't run hot in an enclosed closet
  • Every port labelled to match the patch panel schema — see termination & labeling

Common Questions

Rack & closet build questions

A few questions specific to this service.

It depends on your equipment count and growth plans. A single-family home might need a 6U wall-mount cabinet; a multi-unit building's main telecom room could call for a full 4-post 42U rack. We'll size it during the site visit.

Typically you supply the rack, switches, router and any active hardware; we supply the patch panels, cable, and connectors, and handle the mounting, termination, dressing and labelling.

Yes — a lot of our rack work is re-dressing and re-labelling an existing closet that's grown messy over time, without a full rebuild.

Yes — we'll size and mount a UPS so your network and NVR ride through short power interruptions instead of dropping immediately.
